For every defined indexed column SharePoint stores the index value for every list item in a separate table, i.e. “NameValuePair ” table which we have seen above. You cannot reliably use the ID field in calculated column formulas to produce your own automatically incrementing field; a formula that references the ID field will only recalculate when you edit the calculated column.

Hence, I would like to add a Row number to make it easier for the user to locate items starting from 1, separate from the ID field (which contains gaps/not continuous because of item deletions).
